Freedom Wall
New Water Feature at VFFM
2014/10/28

When you visit the monument and look between the park benches on the right side, you will find a new calming and artistic accent that was recently installed by Caleb McDonald, Boy Scout from St Charles Troop #103 in Lima, Ohio. As part of Caleb's Eagle Scout project, he chose to install a pillar mounted globe that gently directs water over a ribbed sphere as it flows into a basin below. Caleb explained that the water symbolizes our sea based enlisted soldiers that are stationed all over the earth, with the globe representative of earth. And since Caleb supports the theory of 'going green', this water feature is self sustaining through solar polar to help reduce harm to our planet. Caleb is in the final stages of attaining the Eagle Scout rank, which is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scout program. Congratulations and thank you Caleb! Please take time to visit this addition soon, as it will have to be removed and temporarily stored for the winter season.
