Chuck was in active service during the Korean War, but did not actually serve in Korea. Instead Chuck was stationed at Camp Geiger, NC as part of the 8th Signal Battalion. Chuck spent approximately 4 weeks in San Diego for training to become a member of this Battalion. As part of the 8th Signal Battalion, Chuck was assigned to go down to the Vieques Island near Puerto Rico to set up communications on the Island. Chuck was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps on 1/10/1954.
