A Columbus Grove, Ohio family has the unusual distinction of sending six boys to the military. Eugene, Edward, Harold, James, Raymond and Richard Halker, sons of Leo and Frances Halker, served their country during the World War II and Korean War periods. Richard Halker was a staff sergeant in the US Air Force serving from November of 1948 to December of 1953. He spent three years in Japan during the Korean Conflict, and was discharged after the war.
